First Dozen of 30 Minden Hussars Completed. . .

The first dozen hussars are finished, save for a couple of coats of clear acrylic "varnish". . . really just inflated modeller jargon for Future/Klear floor finish.  Double-click the photo above for a really ENLARGED version of the maneuvers.

About to go charging across the painting table and off into space, here, submitted for your viewing pleasure are the first twelve Minden Prussian hussars, painted in, more or less, uniforms based on those of the Lauzun Legion hussars.  Time for another cuppa java and to get to basecoating the remaining 18.  Only one month and four days left to finish these darn things!

Nice one Stokes.

Where can I get a tin of your Flowery Cork Chip Tea?

Ah, yes. . . The Rare Flowery Cork Chip Tea. A blend that Donald Featherstone himself was extremely fond of in the old days. I think he mentions it the Appendix of War Games. Of was it Battles with Model Soldiers? Sadly, I haven't been able to replenish my supply since sometime back in '87 (I was stationed in the Punjab then, seconded to Queen's Royal Foresters), when Ol' Simbah finally gave up the ghost. I keep the tin on my painting table now as a reminder of better days.

Best Regards,

Stokes
