More Information from Stollenian Agents. . .

Agents currently in the service of Stollen's General von Drosselmaier fed him a disturbing piece of information this morning while he dined at the breakfast table al fresco on a low ridge to the east of Saegewerkdorf . It seems a previously overlooked unit of infantry has been discovered and confirmed as part of vile Stagonia's order of battle -- the notorious red-coated Grosfurtzen Grenzer!

Their presence with Major General Drednoz's army means that the Grand Duchy of Stollen is somewhat outnumbered in terms of, not only cavalry, but also where infantry numbers are concerned. When informed of this latest development early today, von Drosselmaier seemed unaffected by the news, first finishing his softboiled eggs, followed by a dose of snuff and a good sneeze. He next replied to the valet who conveyed the information from his spies, "Very good. That will be all for now. Clear the table and fetch my horse."

Just what went through von Drosselmaier's mind at that moment? It is of course hard to say since the general is known for his guarded public nature, especially where issues of military importance are concerned. However, the officers closest to him in the field suggest that von Drosselmaier is not terribly worried by the news, noting that the General, who has been up since 3am, is now napping in the shade of a nearby tree with a copy of yesterday's Die Krankenstadt Tageblat folded over his face!

Could it be that the General's agents have satisfactorily concluded their meetings with a certain "Colonel of Negotiable Virtue"? (How vile; but then again what else could be expected from Stagonians!)
Rumor has it that the good General has been living rather frugally lately. Could this be because sums of money have changed hands?! Given his performance upon the Field Of Mars recently, could he be blamed for trying to seize upon every advantage on or off the battlefield?

The Eventual Anhalt-Zerbst Regiment. . .

The Anhalt-Zerbst regiment musters in the drill square to sort themselves into platoons and companies during the coming weeks  Fall maneuvers if you will. A large dose of real life the last few days with the start of classes next Monday, various preparatory meetings, and finishing up a few other things this week.  But, I managed to sort out 60 or so Minden Austrian infantry from the pile and get 'em stuck to temporary painting bases.  Must carefully drill out the hands of several NCOs for flagpoles and pole arms this weekend before the usual basecoat.   I'm thinking of mixing the usual white gesso with the usual light gray to kill two birds with one stone so to speak.  Applying both base- and undercoat in one fell swoop as my grandmother used to say. In the meantime, the recently finished squadron of Saxon cuirassiers has been placed carefully in one of the clear acrylic boxes on my shelves until I have the suitable flag to affix.   -- Sto...

Presenting the Anspach-Bayreuth Kuirassiere!!!

Here they are, with the rearmost nine figures still drying, three squadrons of the Anspach-Bayreuth Kuirassiere, now in the service of the Grand Duchy of Stollen. And now, it's onto that artillery!

Continued Regional Map Revisions. . .

F ooled around a bit more with the revised map just before and after dinner this evening, using the Fotor app to reinsert missing text .  I also removed a few other things using the 'Magic Eraser' function, which works surprisingly well.  Now, we're getting somewhere.  I just have to figure out how to ensure that the text is all a uniform font style and maybe figure out a way to add a few bunches of trees to suggest forested areas,  Ninja AI is not always entirely cooperative to the tune of "I'm sorry Dave.  I can't do that." -- Stokes
