New 18th Century Plastic Figures!

Just a quick post to direct those of you who don't already know about this new venture to The Wargames Factory in Malden, Massachusetts, USA. Their link is: http://www.wargamesfactory.com/leagueind.

Howard and his two partners are offering hard plastic 28mm figures for the Seven Years War and, I believe, the War of Spanish Succession on a basis similar to Eureka Miniatures' 100 club. If there is enough interest in a range, and enough orders are placed, a limited run of the figures in question will be produced and the orders filled. Wargames Factory is also offering the possibility of figures for a number of other periods too.

I have no connection to these guys, but it would be great to see their operation get off the ground. And, of course, it's exciting to learn of more 18th century plastics without waiting for the Perry's or Victrix to decide on the viability of even producing masters for such figures, much less the actual sprues. My only reservation is that there do no seem to be any photos of finished miniatures on the Wargames Factory website, so we lack examples of their product. But, if you want to place a small order to help these guys out, and you don't mind living a bit dangerously in these perilous economic times, well, rock & roll as they say!

Hmm... I've seen the Perry 28mm plastics ACW in the - er - flesh, and find them on the large (read huge!) side. If these WF guys can turn out SYW figures at reasonable cost in a reasonable scale, I'm all for it.

Thanks for the tip. I subscribed and suggested they make pioneers/pontoneers as no one else makes these much needed figures. Thanks again...Bill

Yep, I have pre-ordered the generic WSS/marlburian. let's see what happens, as they have promised much but seem a tad slow on delivering

I threw my hat in for some Prussians...so hopefully it will fly eventually...

I've already got two preorders for things I know I'd never see anywhere else: 'Three Kingdoms Chinese Warriors' and 'Fantasy Renaissance females'

I've put in a suggestion, which hasn't made it on yet, I don't think, for sprues of SYW figures in "1/72" sized to fit in with the Revell lines.
