I got a set from my local discount arts store and found they work fine (just have to remember not to use an oil based varnish afterwards).marinergrimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01393687295535460527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33020106.post-46408538087288901452019-02-10T16:48:10.918-06:002019-02-10T16:48:10.918-06:00Thank you for your encouraging comments, everyone!...Thank you for your encouraging comments, everyone! No way around it. The white uniform items were done with a very damp #1 round brush and thinned color, effectively washes I guess. Thin enough to blend, but not enough to run all over the figures. Repeated again and again until things began to look right. It took a few days. The undercoat that provides my shadow is tan, which gives a slightly warmer, 'woolier' look than a gray undercoat, although the effect is much the same. The white shoulder belts and uppermost areas of the uniforms (shoulders, upper backs and chests, front bent knees, rear calves) received dots of pure white pigment straight from the bottle.

Best Regards,

StokesWSTKS-FM Worldwidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14173042438761572040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33020106.post-6960333117812812362019-02-10T15:48:07.470-06:002019-02-10T15:48:07.470-06:00A major step forward, always good to see.A major step forward, always good to see.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15751744958434403184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33020106.post-18085805998180307702019-02-10T13:17:12.664-06:002019-02-10T13:17:12.664-06:00Lovely execution of the shading for the white, Sto...Lovely execution of the shading for the white, Stokes. It permits the body to rest completely and for all the body's major systems to take the time to recover from the stresses and strains of the day.

It is so good to hear that you had a profitable and productive day at the painting table. Each brush stroke brings you nearer to being able to add another completed unit to your armies and to expand the size of your table top battles.

Wishing you continued productivity, I remain,

Gerardus Magnus
Archbishop Emeritus
CelticCurmudgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17687177512999052331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33020106.post-49790549846515478002019-02-10T05:41:09.751-06:002019-02-10T05:41:09.751-06:00Seizing the moment is always a good idea.
